The Portland Japanese Garden

Portland, OR is one of my favorite cities. Don't tell anyone, but sometimes I desperately wish I could live there. In late July when my sister Katie and I were in town visiting Mom, the weather was absolutely perfect. I will evangelize about the perfection of Oregon until my tongue falls out. Don't listen to any of those naysayers who love to complain about the rain. I've never been anywhere with a more beautiful spring and summer, and fall and winter are relatively mild with lovely seasonal changes.

One of our first stops was the Portland Japanese Garden, an incredibly peaceful place. It's apparently the largest Japanese Garden outside of Japan, covering five acres of green forest in Portland.

I wore one of my favorite recent vintage purchases, a silk ruby and blush pink polka-dotted midi dress that I found at MAHPs in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It's originally from Talbots and a size 12 (!!!). I have no idea how it's actually supposed to fit but I love the way it looks "oversized."

Each of us wore embellished hair pins that my mom bought at Anthropologie the day before. We're three peas in a pod.

I'm wearing:

Silk polka-dotted midi dress - Talbots via MAHPs Vintage
Skinny black belt, Urban Outfitters
Madewell Whistlestop sandal
Vintage Coach purse, MAHPs Vintage
